Groupon and Laser Hair Removal in Canada – Are These Really Good Deals?

You may or may not know, but Groupon (group buying site) launched in Canada early this year. Since that time we have tweeted @nobodyhair the various deals happening around the country for hair removal. So we wanted to put to the test, whether or not these laser hair removal deals are good. Here is what we found:

Vancouver

On Sept 11 – Skin2 Laser Aesthetics Centre was running a deal – $99 for Three Laser Hair-Removal Treatments at Skin2 Laser Aesthetics Centre (Up to $330 Value). The fine print stated that you could only use on the following areas – underarms, brows, bikini area, chin, upper lip, sideburns, dorsal fin, hairline, neck, ears, foot, and nipples.

That would make it $33 for each treatment. If we compare the underarm treatment price, compared to 3 businesses that we reviewed in Vancouver, see Male Brazilian Laser Hair Removal, we find the prices for underarm laser hair removal at; $75 to $78.

This was a good deal.

Toronto

On Sept 12 – Yonge Eglinton Laser Eye + Cosmetic Centre ran a deal $99 for Four Laser Hair-Removal Sessions at Yonge Eglinton Laser Eye + Cosmetic Centre (Up to $596 Value). It was valid only for underarms, upper lip, chin, sideburns, bikini line, or neck.

Price per underarm in this case was $25. We have not done a specific comparison in Toronto for the prices of underarm hair removal, but we did compare Underarm Waxing Prices across Canada and at $25 for this deal, the average in Toronto for waxing was $14.60 – this was a good deal.

On June 6 – The Sarum Room Laser Clinic ran a deal $199 for Three Laser Hair-Removal Treatments from The Sarum Room Laser Clinic (Up to $600 Value). This was valid only for Underarm, bikini, face, chin, sideburns, and full bikini.

This works out to $66 per underarm. Although much more costly that the Young Eglington Deal, this was approaching being a neutral deal. It saved you some money, but their regular rates ($200 for an underwear) – over priced. If you bought this, you did not go wrong, but you also did not save any significant money.

Ottawa

On Sept 26 – Dermis Advanced Skin Care ran a deal $149 for Six Laser Hair-Removal Treatments at Dermis Advanced Skin Care (Up to $540 Value). This was valid for chin, upper lip, underarms, linea, sternum, cheeks, sideburns & jawline and you have to use 2 for bikini.

This worked out to $24 for underarm – good deal.

Edmonton

On Sept 12 – Silky Skin Laser and Esthetics Centre ran a deal $99 for Three Laser Hair-Removal Treatments at Silky Skin Laser and Esthetics Centre (Up to $315 Value). This was valid for upper lip & chin, underarms, bikini line, full face, men’s neck front or back.

For underarms this was $33 per session. We did a comparison on Edmonton Full Leg Laser Hair Removal Prices and if we compare some of the sites we looked at for their prices on underarms we find prices of $85 to $100. This was a good deal.

Calgary

Currently running this weekend from Target Health is $75 for Three Laser Hair-Removal Treatments at Target Health in Gold’s Gym ($147 Value). Valid for underarm, chin and upper lip, may combine for larger areas.

Price for underarm is $25. Their regular price is $49 so at $25 this is a pretty good.

For the most part, beside the early deal done in Toronto back in June, if you want to get some laser hair removal treatments done, you might want to follow Groupon, some of the deals are worth it.

Comparing Prices for Female Brazilian Laser Hair Removal Services Across Canada

Ladies depending on where you live in Canada the cost to remove your pesky pubic hair can really vary. On this blog there have been posts about comparing prices on the male Brazilian (in Calgary and Vancouver) but nothing dedicated specifically for the ladies.

What we compared was the price of a “Brazilian” across many business locations around the country (based on what we could fine on their website). Our definition of Brazilian is “clean as a whistle”, see image below.

Female Brazilian Laser Hair Removal Styles

So what did we find? For the most part the average and median price of Brazilian laser hair removal for women is consistent across the country except for Vancouver. Vancouver is super cheap – does this mean there are more ladies walking around a la bare than the rest of the country? We don’t know for sure, but it makes me want to move to Vancouver – I could have saved a lot of money.

Female Brazilian Laser Hair Removal Prices Across Canada

The average price for a female brazilian laser hair removal treatment in Vancouver is $147 compared to the highest in Toronto at $262. Over the course of 5-treatments this would be an extra $575 to zap those hair follicles.

We compared 6 places in Ottawa, 11 places in Toronto or surrounding GTA area, 7 locations in Calgary, 6 in Edmonton, 8 in Vancouver, 4 in Winnipeg and 2 in Halifax to get the above numbers.
